Harvey Reforms into a Tropical Depression in the Gulf

GOES-16 is keeping its eye on the remnants of what was once Tropical Storm Harvey, which has regenerated into a Tropical Depression today, August 23, 2017. At 10:00 am CDT, NOAA's National Hurricane Center reported that Harvey is located about 535 miles south-southeast of Port O'Connor, Texas, is moving toward the northwest at 9 miles per hour, and features maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Harvey could become a hurricane on Friday (8/25).
